garnering little sympathy
as governments shrink
into horrific prison scenes
with faulty plumbing
and emptied vending machines
as guards fall asleep
while roaches skitter
into crimped sheets
while high-profile inmates
incur severe neck injuries
having successfully lessened
their fear and misery
ending with blue-tinged cool skin ...
